With 17 stalls in Singapore, Formosa Delights is synonymous to springy hand-made noodles. A Dutch word used to describe Taiwan and interpreted as ‘beautiful island’, naming his stall Formosa Delight is the Taiwanese owner, Mr Henry Liu’s way of giving recognition to his roots. Unique to Formosa Delight is their Dao Xiao Mian (Knife Shaved Noodle) which is noodles shaped in a triangle so that when enjoyed, gives a ‘layered’ texture that is ‘QQ’. Chefs preparing the noodles are from Shanxi and Xi-An province in China which Dao Xiao Mian is originated from. Besides their knife shaved noodles, Formosa Delights is also famous for Stewed Beef with Noodles Soup, Fried Dumpling and Black Pepper Chicken with dried noodles. Having researched on noodles for a good 6 months before he finally came up with one with the ‘perfect taste’, you can be sure that you’ll be getting quality and quantity (they serve 150g of noodles!) at Formosa Delights!
